Emmi Knuutinen is a folk singer and kantele player from Helsinki.
Knuutinen’s passion is improvised kantele music played with small kanteles and she’s deeply touched about Bulgarian singing and balkan rythms. Emmi Knuutinen has worked as a composer with kantele -she has composed music for rewarded documentary films- and she also has an experience as a music teacher over ten years. She works as a kantele, rythmic and singing teacher in music schools, adult institutes and Sibelius Academy Folk Music Department. She has given solo concerts in Finland, Bulgaria, Germany, Serbia, Italy, Denmark and Ireland.
Baklava is good-mood balkan orchestra which was founded in summer 2008. Songs on this site are from Baklava’s concert in November 2008.
Emmi Knuutinen (BMus) studies in a master programme at the Sibelius Academy Folk Music Department. Winter 2009 she studied folk singing and folk choir conducting in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, at the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine arts.

Hello from Finland! It's a name-dropping FRENZY!!! CD has liner notes by Biographer Charles R.
