Melbourne born singer / songwriter Emmy Bryce is a welcomed fresh face to the folk/pop world. She boasts an amazingly quirky upbeat persona and soulful nature that flows throughout her music. Her songs are a blend of catchy pop melodies and ideas mixed with beautiful acoustic instruments and vocals. Her influences include Angie Hart, Jewel, Regina Spektor, Coldplay, Billy Joel and anything off Broadway!
No matter how noisy the venue, when Em starts to sing, silence takes over. People stop to listen. Her voice is angelic, pure, and soulful. She has total control of her instrument and she passionately tells her story with each note, with each facial expression. Performing live is where Emmy excels; the audience is never left disappointed and always left wanting more. She is a rare find.
2010 is set to be a milestone year for Emmy. Following her “Down South Tour” of Tasmania in July, she is returning to Melbourne with a full diary including support gigs, her own headline shows, and supporting a high profile Australian musician for a charity event in December. She is also gearing up to collaborate and create new songs with a writer and a producer who work with the likes of Eskimo Jo, Pete Murray and Kate-Miller Heidke and is aiming to record and release an independent album in 2011 to coincide with a self organized national tour.
Emmy’s goal is to continue to improve her songwriting craft, collaborate with the best in the industry, gig gig gig, and then gig some more, excite her audience with fantastic, dynamic live shows, win fans, and create momentum which will ultimately see her with the commercial success she strives for. And all of this within the next 2 years. She plans to work very hard indeed.
