Dj Dyer, Dj Medicated, Dj Tantric, MC2cr(8-t)z, are all trade names for my various artistic and musical deviations. | | Influences | The Who was my first favorite band. Classic, Punk, and Alternative rock (Primus, Smashing Pumpkins, Pennywise, Rage, Phunk Junkeez) rounded out the High School years, aside from some Industrial and Electronic (NIN, Prodigy). Prior to 10, was the 80's, and Rap, manily regular radio play. In college Dave Mathews band, Ben Harper, and 311 became more important. I appreciated New Age, Jazz, and Classical early on, but this became more promenant in the college years. I dropped out Junior year from Santa Clara University and played out the SF/Bay Area rave/club scene by 2000, and burnt out in the South Bay, Campbell, CA. Exposure to Trance, D n' B, House, Dub, and various other electronic art forms got me into spinning old school Brake Beat records, and Deep House at 550 Barneyvald, the reopening of VSF, and various house parties. I took to computer arts of sampling and sequencing in the South Bay and got a show on college radio where my trip hop instrumental break beat style show took on Post Rock flare. Bubblejacket, Tarentel, Godspeed You Black Emporer, Explosions in the sky, ect. Now it's electro-gaze cross over stuff like Sweet Trip, M83, and Prefuse 73.
