SHABBA RANKS born Rexton Rawlston Gordon on january 17th in sturgetown st ann, Jamaica blessed with a powerful baritone voice and a knock for rhyme, he started out during the early 80's studing DJ's like Brigader Jerry, Yellow man, and his idol Josey Wales.
Influenced by such "toaster" {reggae's version of rapers} as Josey Wales and yellowman, hebegan performing in kingston in 1980 and soon was recording Jamaica hit singles with such leading record producers as King Jammy and Bobby Digital.
Grammy Award winning Shabba Ranks has always mastered a brand of explosive intimacy, working the studio in refresing ways, giving the world hit after hit bass after bass and masterfully stripping away bass and reverb when needed to be. He became with his talent, has charisma and his singular voice a monarch of the the music.
