Formed in May 2008, it wasn't until August 18th 2008 after many name changes the band officially named themselves Empire Assassins. Stu and Kevin met many years ago through their friend Sara who always said they should hook up and make some music together. Finally one day just before Sara left for Australia they hooked up playing acoustic tunes which would eventually lead to electric guitars and a drum kit paving the way for the sounds you hear today. Kevin tracked down an old jamming buddy named Jeff Fieber who he hadn't seen in over ten years. Jeff agreed to jam with them and come out to play their first show under the name Empire Assassins. The band is not in any way limited to a certain style of music as they've been known to play to the likes of Blues, Classic Rock, Reggae, Alternative or even some Metal. Much respect is payed to their country Canada, as some lyrics talk about the land and certain well known Canadians, one in particular is a protest to save Marc Emery, A political prisoner in the so called 'war on drugs'. After undergoing several bass auditions the Empire decided upon working with Trevor DePagie, a local kick-ass musician; playing bass in the band. His stay in the band lasted from Noverber 2008 til May 2009. Shortly there after Clay 'Gully' former 'Beyond Addiction' drummer steped up to play Bass for the Empire, turning out to be an amazing Bass player and all round awesome musician. The band was able to meet up with Marc Emery July 9 2009 on his farewell tour across Canada and performed a couple songs for him...Great pleasure!

"When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds. Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be." - Patanjali
