About EMPIRES

By day Empires spend their days in generic desk-based sterile office environments, darkened test rooms, stalking NHS hospital wards and knee-deep in mud in 'the quarry of dread'.

Occasionally however, this tedium can be excellent breeding ground for the correct mindset required to be inspired to create relentless, 'in your face' rock songs with throwbacks to Scottish folk roots.

Empires started their days as a 4 piece, comprising of the usual rock ensemble coupled to the unexpected fiddle.
The 2009 version of the band see 6 individuals combining with enhanced vocal harmonies and the company of the cello sits in the seat of the fiddle.

We aim to continue to provide powerful live performances and work hard on crafting a representation of ourselves in the studio. I'm sure this won't be the last you'll hear of Empires.

"Communication Lines" our first recording, was voted XFM Uploaded Song of the Week in May 08, achieving over 3x the number of votes than the other 2 bands put together!
