Influences...
Sounds Like "Empty Vessels are certainly not on any bandwagon. Uncompromising, intricate and thoroughly ruthless in concocting something unique." - Joey Sandinista, Damn Pest **************************************************************** "The real stars of the Parlour 9 sessions have to be London's Empty Vessels. The frontman's voice drips with a sleazy character which couldn't be flattened by any sort of recording. The freakishly good 'Monkey' is lyrically simple and is surprisingly brilliant. Blurry, reverberating guitar fizzes in and out of a bristling, controlling bass - to be topped off with a shriekish monkey-call crescendo. 'It's No Guilty Pleasure' possesses a rasping, in face Jagger/Bowie quality and feels satisfyinly over the top. The problem posed by the delicious Empty Vessels; would they sound even better with a greased turd [non lo-fi] recording? We must wait and see." - Davina Earl, Gigwise EVs play The Pleasure Unit in Bethnal Green
Record Labelwe meant to DIY the album but couldn't be arsed

   About Empty Vessels RIP 2007
Empty Vessels formed something like their current and final line-up in January 2004 in London, after a period of chaos, as a reaction against the factory-farmed smugness that fills the airwaves like fungus. .............................................................................................................. They played their last gig in December 2006, shortly before recording an album's worth of material that now probably won't see release: they were bored of those songs anyway. Not that they were bad, it's just time to evolve. Some more of it can be found for free on last.fm: This is a 5-track collection called Empty Vessels Are Finished

Proper Art Rock.

All the best in your future stuff.

Matt, Marko et al

For public benefit, then: you were awesome, and we're sad we didn't see you play more. In the unlikely event that Signatura ever release their various artists vinyl compilation (after underwhelming sales of earlier releases), then maybe there'd be a place for something by the EVs on there?

So: Empty Vessels are dead.
Long live Empty Vessels!

A shame, especially about that album, but still - on to new things.
It's nice the last gig was an absolute blinder, too.

Hey! Gigging should be paid for!
Let's change the gigging system that doesn't make profit to anyone - see my blog for full description, comments and ideas.
Who's up for supporting the music and doing an equal-share gig?

Just so's you know, it's your fault we do Song to the Siren... Matt once described my playing as "that siren thing you do" and I thought "I know a song about that!"

Don't fret none. It's only anti-rock-and-roll. We're gonna make up an LP in a studio very soon. The whole shebang - in 10 hours. We've hired a ton of gear from A-Tool Plant hire & Phil's brother's knicked a PA from the Darkness rehearsal room in Lowestoft. Mic that Kango, Blixa. Let's rot!

The war against purile bullshit starts here - or over there - or possibly round the corner at the back of Tesco's carpark.

Bring a bottle, some petrol & a box of matches!
