A masterful collection of eclectic influences woven together into a compelling tapestry of lush soundscapes. Jazz, ambient and progressive elements are frequently anchored by a rock solid rhythm section. Diverse ethnic percussion on many tracks, provides for a memorable multicultural experience.
I am a keyboard player and composer from Southern California. Although my newer music is more jazz based, earlier recording projects of mine were written and performed in a more "new age" kind of context. Instrumental tunes were weaved together into an enchanted soundscape of ambient synths, occasional guitar and ethnic percussion. As a developing musician, I became proficient in a number of genres from classical to rock, which is why my albums display such diversity. Working as a church organist for 34 years honed my ability to accompany choirs and singers, but a number of rock and country bands counterbalanced that by helping me develop a very upbeat and, hopefully, interesting style. Although other John Pedersen My Space Profiles were created to showcase my more jazzy leanings, this profile was created to focus attention on the more ambient and progressive side of my musical personality.
