The Encounter opened its first store in 1982 in downtown Stroudsburg, PA, and has become the leading comic book retailer in NEPA. The Encounter stocks a wide range of comic titles (current, golden, silver & bronze age), back issues, graphic novels, magazines, collectible card games, manga, action figures, statues, models, toys and other related collectibles.

The Encounter’s Stroudsburg location is at 542 Main St. Stroudsburg, PA. While it’s newly expanded 2nd store is located at 811 Union Blvd. Allentown PA.

Both locations offer FREE gaming space for card, table top & RPG games. In addition to various scheduled local and regional collectible card game tournaments.

The Encounter prides itself on having one of the largest selections of comics and related merchandise in the area. No matter what your tastes are The Encounter has it and if we don’t we can order it. We also offer a FREE Subscription Pull List to all of our customers, helping to guarantee you get the books you want, you tell us what books you want and we will put them on hold for you to pick up.
