There is an ethnic cleansing crisis in Darfur, Sudan.  It needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.  Over 350,000 people have been killed in an ethnic cleansing campaign by the Sudanese government and their Janjaweed militias since 2003.  The vicious Janjaweed militias rape, pillage, and murder, leaving none alive.

Villages are burned and families are displaced.  Recently, when many refugees tried to flee Darfur into the neighboring country of Chad, they were expelled from that country and forced back to their home, forced to face an uncertain fate without adequate food and water.

How would you like it if you were living in Darfur?  How would you feel if you saw your mother raped and murdered at age 7?  What would you do if a group of armed Janjaweed militiamen burned down your home, leaving you with no one?  This is exactly what's going on.  We need to take action and stop this ethnic cleansing.

The Janjaweed militia are so dangerous because they are backed by the government of Sudan.  The government deploys them and they murder and destroy everything they don't view as being worthy of existence.  They wage psychological warfare against the people of Darfur as well, saying things such as, "You worthless blacks, you have no God."  By allowing the Janjaweed to continue their rampage, we are allowing this ethnic cleansing crisis to grow more severe.
