My music tastes and style range from the elite to the obsured. Some of the artists that I am loving at this very moment are... Eric Himan, Jimmy Eat World, Jason Mraz, Ani Difranco, Carrie Underwood, Madonna, Stevie Nicks (w/Fleetwood Mac), Darren Hayes, Melissa Etheridge, The Indigo Girls, Debbie Harry (w/ Blondie), Patti Smiths "Horses" album, Hanson, Alanis Morissette, MeShell N'DegeOcello, Bjork, Gwen Stefani (w/ No Doubt), Pharrell, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland (OMG, check out "Red Carpet Massacre" by Duran Duran, brilliant!), Beth Hart, The Go Go's, Imeogen Heap, Leonna Neass, Matina McBride, Alecia Keys, John Mayer... does this list really need to go on?
Movies
The most recent movie I finally got to watch was "Capote" which was such an amazing film. Its been sitting on my DVD shelf for months and I finally got around to watching it. Some of my favorite movies are: Short Bus, Forrest Gump, 200 Cigarrettes, Closer, Dick Tracey, Kill Bill volume 1&2, Matilda, The Notebook, The Witches of Eastwick, Mermaids, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Ferris Bueller, Almost Famous, Whats Love Got to Do With It, Poltergeist, The Nightmare on Elm St movies (especially 1 and 3), Monster, Little Miss Sunshine, A league of Their Own, The Wizard of Oz (gay, I know), the Harry Potter films, Bam Bam and Celest and Running With Scissors.
Television
Some shows I enjoy are The Biggest Loser, The Peoples Court, Eli Stone, The Sarah Connor Chronicals, Brothers and Sisters, the old Mario Bros. Show, American Idol (only after the auditions), SNL, Family Guy, South Park... but as of right now I do not even own a TV save for one upstairs that has never been turned on in this apartment. If I really need to see something, the internet comes in handy.
Books
I love reading, I love books... however I would not classify myself as an "avid reader". I am the kind of person that goes to the bookstore, picks out 5 books, brings them home and they sit on the book shelf untill I eventually get that bug up my ass to read more and attempt to be cultured. I tend to go through periods where I read alot. When I do read I really like non fiction books and memoirs like: Augusten Burroughs Running With Scissors, Dry, Possible Side Effects. I love comedy books by Margaret Cho, Ellen Degenerous or Leah Delaria. I love love love the Harry Potter books and I've read them numerous times. Currently I've been reading the collected works of Maya Angelou (which incidentally again, I've read numerous times through my life). Some other books are: The Secret, Living History by Hillary Clinton, Naked by David Sedaris, The Lonely Bones, Wicked and Son of a Witch, The Golden Compass, Credit Repair books, Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution, The Power of Now, The Hours, Lord of the Rings and the "User Manual" books by Doctor Oz. The book next to my bedstand right now is The Hitchickers Guide to the Galexy (all volumes of it), The Pursuit of Happieness and The Joy of Gay Sex (good reading before bed, GREAT pictures! lol)
Hi Alan, I Love this quote and wanted to share. ~Boston John Enquire: 'Who am I?' and you will find the answer. Look at a tree: from one seed arises a huge tree; from it comes numerous seeds, each one of which in its turn grows into a tree. No two fruits are alike. Yet it is one life that throbs in every particle of the tree. So, it is the same Atman everywhere. ~ Sri Anandamoyi Ma

Ok maybe I'm getting old... but I'll say it anyway... you need to change the color of your phone, this black and purple thing, it's HARD TO READ IN MY OLD AGE!
