10 of 73MoreRelease date is December 7th 2010 via Music Video Distributors (MVD).
The footage of the 2007 Los Angeles Joe Strummer Tribute and Strummerville Benefit has (finally) been mixed and edited down to a concise 55 minute DVD and will soon be available for purchase with proceeds going to Strummerville.
It looks and sounds great and we are very pleased with the outcome. Many thanks to all of those who invested their time and talents to assist with putting this together.
I am in the process of solidifying a distribution agreement with a worldwide music DVD distribution company and hopefully it will be available by the end of the year. Ideally by mid to late Fall 2010 if possible.
There is still some work to be done before it's finished, but a message will be sent out here once it's completed. I hope this finds each of you doing well and catch you down the road a bit...
Cheers!
Bombshellzine.com, 2SER and Drum Media presents:
Revolution Rock – A Joe Strummer Tribute Night 2009
From front man of The Clash to his work with The Mescalero’s, Joe Strummer was, and still is a massive influence to so many bands and people’s lives worldwide.
Joe sadly passed away at his home in December 2002.
To pay respects to the great man a night of homage happens annually in Sydney and this year the night is taking place at The Hopetoun Hotel, Surry Hills, Sydney on Saturday 19th September.
Bands paying homage for 2009 are: King Cannons (Melbourne), Backy Skank, The Rumjacks and Trenchtown.
Revolution Rock – A Joe Strummer tribute night is now an annual event for Sydney and is in its 3rd successful year in bringing alive Joe’s music and spirit amongst his fans.
All proceeds from the event every year go to Strummerville, The Joe Strummer Foundation for New Music.
Strummerville is a registered charity that aims to create new opportunities for aspiring young musicians.
Set up by the friends and family of Joe Strummer in the year after his death, the charity seeks to reflect Joe's unique contribution to the music world by offering support, recording resources and performance opportunities to artists who would not normally have access to them.

Hi, thanx for the add.
Rock on
COMMANDANTE JOE
by Atilla the Stockbroker
I guess in quite a lot of ways I grew up just like you
A bolshy kid who didn't think the way they told him to
You kicked over the statues, a roots rock rebel star
Who knew that punk was more than just the sound of a guitar
And I'll always remember that night at the Rainbow
When you wrote a soundtrack for my life, Commandante Joe.
So many bands back then were like too many bands today
A bunch of blokes who made a noise with bugger all to say
The Clash were always out in front, you put the rest to shame
Your words were calls to action, your music was a flame
You were our common Dante, and you raised an inferno
And you wrote a soundtrack for my life, Commandante Joe.
Reggae in the Palais Midnight till six!
Rockin' Reds in Brockwell Park!
Sten guns in Knightsbridge!
Up and down the Westway
In and out the lights!
Clash City Rockers!
Know Your Rights!
I guess in quite a lot of ways I grew up just like you
A bolshy kid who didn't think the way they told him to
Like you I always knew that words and music held the key
As you did for so many, you showed the way to me
Although I never met you, I'm so sad to see you go
'Cos you wrote a soundtrack for my life, Commandante Joe.
RIP JOE
Stopping in to wish you Happy Holidays!
Peace
*Janie Jones*
