Movies
Okay, Movies I like:
French films tend to be philosophical, very superstitious that I find them interesting.. Amelie is a great movie and even if you don't like subtitles you will find this film worth it. Girl on a bridge has interesting ideals, "We always think of luck as something we don't have" or something rather, so true. I like movies that have a lot of character development.
Final Cut
You and Me and Everyone We Know
Gosford Park
Sense and Sensibility (anything Jane Austin)
East is East (English flick about an English/Pakistani family, a drama with lots of humor.)
Billy Elliot (awesome sountrack, if you like T-Rex)
I heart huckabees
Royal Tennenbaums
Rushmore
I love every Tim Burton movie.. uh, except Big Fish, that was so lame.
Parker Posey movies, she's so corky. I really admire Cate Blanchet, Kate Winslet, Jeffery Rush and Emma Thomson, they're the best. OH yeah, I would watch any movie with Parker Posey in it, House of Yes was very good.
Documentaries: Iraq for Sale, Sicko, Wal*Mart:High Cost, Crude Impact.. just to name a few.
Television
"Make It WORK". Project Runway, Kathy Griffen's D list, she makes me laugh so freaking hard. The Campus Ladies, "I'm a hot new Lady", it's great! Top Chef. Mostly watch Bravo, Comedy Central and VH1.
Old faves: Kids in the Hall, The A list, 120 minutes, SNL... this was all from ten or so years ago.
Radio!! NPR: Fresh Air, As it Happens, Deutchabella Radio, AR, Wire Tap (love Johnathan Goldstein. This American Life (great but sometimes I miss the show do to schedule).. Car Talk! Science Friday and Market Place.. Man, NPR has some really awesome shows.
Books
David Sedaris "Naked" acutally all his books are entertaining. Jane Austin, the Brontes, Tolstoy, Henry James, Jack London, Edgar Allen Poe. These books: The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales, all the Harry Potter books, Lord of the Ring series, Running with Scissors and.. now reading Piercing the Darkness.
Heroes
My sisters. Seriously there were times they saved my ass.
Musical hero: In 1988 I was watching SNL and the Sugarcubes were the musical guests and I was infactuated. Birthday blew me away. There was nothing like it.
About me: If you click on my signature it will take you to my online ART gallery.
I dig music of all sorts. I like the sounds of trumpets, accordions, pianos, ukeleles, mandolins, glockenspiels, violins, cello, tambourines, Tubas, lots of clapping and unusual voices and/or melodies.
I generally act goofy but I can be very serious. Sometimes I cry when others do.
I dance like a puppet with a kick of pizazz. I like amber ales and think bud tastes like piss. I love people, I even like assholes as long as they're funny and don't care to be around liars. I hate not a single soul.
Who I'd like to meet: Sincere folks, artsy farts and music nerds.
You have such a wicked awesome background ;) sooo, does your friend that reminds you of me make good money as a writer? What does she write? and who for? Do I have an "in" if I "know" her through you. Haha. I'm applying for a freelance writing position. I'm sample writing this weekend to turn in with my resume. I want this job with all my inwards and spirit combined! Eeeee! okay, then. so I looked up greensleeves, and, der, of course I know that song. Didn't know it had a silly name. Haha, Kidding. Green sleeves, like, the rolling hills of Ireland. Or something. I'm actually VERY fond of the song. It's the theme song of my childhood. There's magic in the way those notes are arranged... Weird. Probably. Thanks for indirectly bringing me back to it. :)
