This lively rock/jazz outfit plays a variety of material from Armatrading to Zappa and all sorts in between from artists such as John Scofield, Steely Dan, Allan Holdsworth, Jaco Pastorius, Weather Report, Joni Mitchell, Wayne Krantz, Oz Noy and more. They have also recently started to write and perform their own tunes. All three musicians suggest ideas and material which brings variety and style to their performances.
Roger Carey is a remarkable bass player and singer who has played many styles of jazz, rock and pop in his career. He has long been the bass player in Liane Carroll’s Trio and was recently seen on BBC4 TV in her hour long feature from the Brecon Jazz Festival. He also played on her recent ‘Standard Issue’ CD, and Roger is a also regular at Ronnie Scotts.
Andy Williams is a highly respected jazz guitarist and has recently recorded and toured with bassist-composer Spike Heatley. He played funkier jazz with Rupert Cobb in the ‘Hazardous Funk’ Duo in the 1990’s. In EC&G he’s had the chance to utilize his jazz/rock styles more fully and contributes to the band’s repertoire and arrangements.
Roger and Andy have also been involved with the reformed Gentle Giant (Now known as Three Friends) and have been touring the world with this legendary prog rock outfit including gigs in Japan and Canada and Europe.
Simon Page has played and recorded with many artists including Will Faeber with whom he toured the UK and Europe and also recorded with The Raincoats.
