Hailing from our nation’s capital, The Engine Room is a young band on the forefront of original, classicist rock ‘n’ roll. Drummer Jay Nemeyer, guitarist Miles Eichner, and bassist David Gassmann provide an instrumental backdrop that combines the tight camaraderie and interplay of an R&B show band with the joyous abandon of punks at the top of their game. Over this, Tara Davis sings soaring melodies and weaves tales of optimism and inspiration, unique characters and wide-open spaces. Altogether, they produce a sound that is rootsy and soulful without being beholden to any one genre; catchy and accessible but still idiosyncratic, multifaceted, and deeply personal. With a firm grasp on rock’s traditions, the band manages to explore new ground in the familiar territory of guitar-based, melodic rock ‘n’ roll. They have just finished recording a new EP (title TBD) and are looking forward to a bright, deafening future.
Also, they did not write the theme from “Nip/Tuck.”

Whenever I work with Dave he can't stop continuously bitching about how his copy of "Step up to the Streets 2" still hasn't come in. Tell the man to chill out!!

I really dig the EP. It captures you all really well. I liked your old stuff a lot and I think this is even better at really capturing what you're all about. It's really diverse but there's a great overarching theme holding it all together. I'd like one of those fancy copies with art, etc. when you've got it done. Well done!
