Brian Heywood [electric & synth guitars, vocals] is a professional musician who originally hails from Australia where he cut his musical teeth with the popular Sydney group; Bluetongue. In England he has played in a number of rock and folk/rock bands and has appeared at music festivals all around the UK as well as appearing on various records.

Martyna [vocals] will be joining us as a guest vocalist on a regular basis. Martyna has been working with such influential talents as Boo Hewerdine, David Knopfler, Cara Dillon and Sam Lakeman and adds another dimension to enQ's sound.

Siân Phillips [violin] is a fifth generation fiddle player with roots back to the chapel fiddlers of the Swansea Valleys. Her professional career has seen her perform at festivals, concerts, workshops and seminars throughout the UK, Europe and the USA. She has played with The Constitution Hillbillies, Heather Jones, Meic Stevens, Wild Welsh Women. She currently plays with the Wild Green and Celtish as well as MoonDance.

Andrew King [bass guitar ] started his professional music career with the Truss & Bucket Band, a ceilidh band that still exists in some form, almost thirty years and 800 gigs later. Over the years he’s also played blues with Lowell Fulson & D.C. Brown, Cajun with The Crayfish Five, Zydeco with Rockin’ Sidney, acoustic folk with Home & Colonial and Allegiance and country dance music with The Lantern Band, Contraflow and a whole host of others.

Mike Vishnic [kit drums] is originally from East London and plays with Brian in the London based rock band The Quirky. Mike brings an incredible level of energy to the band as well as a great deal of percussive showmanship.

Sounds Like"... agressive, top notch fiddling set off by periodic guitar explosions." - Tom Nelligan, Dirty linen

"Just when it seemed as if newer electric British roots bands were getting thinner on the ground, enQ come as the cavalry. Very welcome and very good." - fRoots Magazine

"They have the drive and punch of the great Folk Rock bands -- Moving Hearts in full cry or The Battlefield ... " - Folk London

"What an amazingly innovative and energetic band; their fusion of folk, traditional, rock and funk surpasses anything other bands have tried to date." - Tony Bates - 3WBC 94.1 FM (Australia)

   About enQ

The music is a hard hitting mixture of instrumentals with a selection of original songs. Music that can get you up on your feet as well as make you think. Music that's a vital hybrid of world and celtic influences with jazz, rock and latin thrown in for good measure. The instrumentals range from fast and furious celtic rock tunes to funky foot tappers and reflective ambient and jazz/rock influenced originals. The songs are original but accessible - about life, love and the universe.

"...I thought the performance by enQ was superb and a highlight of the whole weekend" - Shaun, Organiser of the Dunstable Folk & Dance Festival (England)

Hey there

Great tunes you have on here!

Thanks for including us on your friends list. I hope that you liked the songs

As a Boston radio station said about our album.........

“This isn't just the best damned drinking album of the year; it's the best damned CD to play before you go out drinking to pump yourself up album of the year”

I reckon it also goes for our live show. So come along one day, see if you can drink us under the table and dance us off of the stage!

Cheers
