What Is Bipolar II?
Bipolar II disorder (pronounced "bipolar two") is a form of mental illness. Bipolar II is similar to bipolar I disorder, with moods cycling between high and low over time.
However, in bipolar II disorder, the "up" moods never reach full-on mania. The less-intense elevated moods in bipolar II disorder are called hypomanic episodes, or hypomania.
A person affected by bipolar II disorder has had at least one hypomanic episode in life. Most people with bipolar II disorder also suffer from episodes of depression. (This is where the term "manic depression" comes from.)
In between episodes of hypomania and depression, many people with bipolar II disorder live normal lives.
What Are the Symptoms of Bipolar II Disorder?
During a hypomanic episode, elevated mood can manifest itself as either euphoria (feeling "high") or as irritability.
Symptoms during hypomanic episodes include:
Flying suddenly from one idea to the next
Rapid, "pressured" speech
Increased energy, with hyperactivity and decreased need for sleep
People experiencing hypomanic episodes are often quite pleasant to be around. They can often seem like the "life of the party" -- making jokes, taking an intense interest in other people and activities, and infecting others with their positive mood.
What's so bad about that, you might ask? Hypomania can also lead to erratic and unhealthy behavior. People in hypomanic episodes might spend money they don't have, seek out sex with people they normally wouldn't, and engage in other impulsive or risky behaviors.
Also, the vast majority of people with bipolar II disorder experience significant depressive episodes. These can occur soon after hypomania subsides, or much later. Some people cycle back and forth between hypomania and depression, while others have long periods of normal mood in between episodes.
Untreated, an episode of hypomania can last anywhere from a few days to several years. Most commonly, symptoms continue for a few weeks to a few months.
Depressive episodes in bipolar II disorder are similar to "regular" clinical depression, with depressed mood, loss of pleasure, low energy and activity, feelings of guilt or worthlessness, and thoughts of suicide. Depressive symptoms of bipolar disorder can last weeks, months, or rarely years
What Is Schizotypal Personality Disorder?
Schizotypal personality disorder is one of a group of conditions called eccentric personality disorders. People with these disorders often appear odd or peculiar. They may display unusual thinking patterns, behaviors, or appearances.
People with schizotypal personality disorder may have odd beliefs or superstitions. These individuals are unable to form close relationships and tend to distort reality. In this respect, schizotypal personality disorder can seem like a mild form of schizophrenia -- a serious brain disorder that distorts the way a person thinks, acts, expresses emotions, perceives reality, and relates to others. In rare cases, people with schizotypal personality disorder can eventually develop schizophrenia.
What Are the Symptoms of Schizotypal Personality Disorder?
People with schizotypal personality disorder display a combination of odd behavior, speech patterns, thoughts, and perceptions. Other people often describe these individuals as strange or eccentric. Additional traits of people with this disorder include the following:
Dressing, speaking or acting in an odd or peculiar way
Being suspicious and paranoid
Being uncomfortable or anxious in social situations due to their distrust of others
Having few friends and being extremely uncomfortable with
intimacy
Tending to misinterpret reality or to have distorted perceptions (for example, mistaking noises for voices)
Having odd beliefs or magical thinking (for example, being overly superstitious or thinking of themselves as psychic)
Being preoccupied with fantasy and daydreaming
Tending to be stiff and awkward when relating to others
Coming across as emotionally distant, aloof, or cold
High-Functioning Autism
Autism is a brain disorder in which communication and interaction with others is difficult. The symptoms of autism may range from total lack of communication with others to difficulty in understanding others' feelings. Because of the range of symptoms, this condition is now called Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
High-functioning autism is at one end of the ASD spectrum. Signs and symptoms are less severe than with other forms of autism. In fact, a person with high-functioning autism usually has average or above average intelligence. The differences from other forms of autism have led many psychiatrists to consider high-functioning autism as similar to or the same as Asperger's syndrome.
Whether it's labeled high-functioning autism or Asperger's syndrome, coping with this condition presents daily challenges -- for those who have it and for their family and friends.
What are the signs and symptoms of high-functioning autism?
People with high-functioning autism do not have the delayed language development that's typically found in people with autism. In addition, people with high-functioning autism have average or above average intelligence. However, they may show other behaviors and signs similar to what's seen with other types of autism:
delay in motor skills
lack of skill in interacting with others
little understanding of the abstract uses of language, such as humor or give-and-take in a conversation
obsessive interest in specific items or information
strong reactions to textures, smells, sounds, sights, or other stimuli that others might not even notice, such as a flickering light
Unlike people with other forms of autism, people with high-functioning autism or Asperger's syndrome want to be involved with others. They simply don't know how to go about it. They may not be able to understand others' emotions. They may not read facial expressions or body language well. As a result, they may be teased and often feel like social outcasts. The unwanted social isolation can lead to anxiety and depression.
Or not.

You Are a Prophet Soul
You are a gentle soul, with good intentions toward everyone.
Selfless and kind, you have great faith in people.
Sometimes this faith can lead to disappointment in the long run.
No matter what, you deal with everything in a calm and balanced way.
You are a good interpreter, very sensitive, intuitive, caring, and gentle.
Concerned about the world, you are good at predicting people's feelings.
A seeker of wisdom, you are a life long learner looking for purpose and meaning.
You are a great thinker and communicator, but not necessarily a doer.
Souls you are most compatible with: Bright Star Soul and Dreaming Soul
Hey man it's Sammantha, how've you been? What's it been... 3...4 years now?
Well anyway, I was just calling to say I'll be in town for the holidays and I was thinking maybe we could get the band back together. I've been working on some stuff and I think I'm really onto something here. It's not quite the same as what we played back in our golden days... but I think we should give it a go... you know, I think it's just the break we were always looking for.
Anyway give me a call back if you get some time. I know you're busy 'n all. Heard you got married! congrats! Hope she has big tits like you always said you wanted.
But yeah... you've got my number and... I....hope to hear from you soon.
Let's add both AIDS Wolf and Black Dice, make them our top friends, and then leave them comments multiple times a day about how they HAVE to come to Amarillo. Then when they finally do... we'll slash their tires.
well there are a lot of reasons but mostly, the opportunity to have linley around my family, and get a little free babysitting while i start working , is really why were moving. we figure its better to be big fish in a small pond then normal sized fish in the ocean that is Houston... at least until we get done with school and stuff.
a small town outside of houston, were moving back but we've been here for a year... it was really nice to get away from amarillo, drama and what not, and just have a whole year with linley...
Ryan Vigil! I'll be damned! What has it been now... thirty years? How ya been man? I would've called but Nick Rigz threw me off a cliff! Let's do lunch sometime...
