    Enrique Firpi (Uruguay 1960) After finishing secondary school and having had a very brief taste of University in Montevideo I decided I would become a professional musician. I did that in my homeland Uruguay from 1976 until 1987 , in that period I was involved in a lot of different kinds of jobs: bars , pubs , restaurants , nightclubs , parties , weddings , recordings , tv programs and also some famous artists such as Jose Carbajal "Él Sabalero" and also Fernando y Tequinha , Alberto Magnone , Telecataplum , Pool..s band with Edgardo Rigaud , Walter "Cafe" Rivero and Beatriz Aguiar , Carlos Scordamaglia , Elizabeth Rodriguez , Monico Aguilera , Eduardo Tancredi , Jorge Camiruaga and many others , all of this was a great learning experience and certainly one of the happiest times of my life. That diverstity of "gigs" put me in contact with so many styles of music and musicians and made me realize that there is only good and bad music regardless of the style and I guess it developed in me some kind of flexibility I still make use of to the day of today. In 1987 I followed my great friend Jose Lopretti and moved to Amsterdam Holland where I started a new and different kind of music life. I got in contact with a lot more music than I could absorbe and I began studying and really checking out a lot of new things and new cultures I didn..t know anything about , this was so fascinating that now 21 years later I am still busy trying to learn a little bit of all that is around. I have been also incredibly fortunate to be able to work with great artists such as Leonardo Amuedo , Jose Lopretti , Deborah Carter , Ana Beck , Randal Corsen , Lilian Vieira , Fernando Lameirinhas , Daniel Viglietti , Vera Mann , Josee Koning , Juan Pablo Dobal , Beatriz Aguiar , Izaline Calister , Ferial Karamat Ali , Orlando Miño, Amina Figarova , Esther Steenbergen and so many others I wouldn..t even know anymore! And now , 2008 , I still live in Holland , deep in a polder 6 meters under sea level , in Almere Haven to be more precise , and guess what ..... I am still trying to learn something about music!!!
