Ensemble Nimbus is instrumental progressive rock with a strong dose of complexity and risk, with rapid and frantic rhythm changes. Rather inspired by the RIO scene but in spite of this, the music present a strong melodic component and are quite more affordable than those of the darkest bands in the RIO like Univers Zero, Art Zoyd, Present and others.
E.Nimbus Combines the physical punch of the earlier bands with the"postmodern" conceptual/contextual ideas of more recent musicians such as Biota, the Mnemonists, and various projects with Guigo Chenevier.
The group was formed in late 1992 by Håkan Almkvist and Hasse Bruniusson, and appeared on one compilation CD released 1993 in USA on FOT RECORDS called "PASSED NORMAL" together with artists like Pere Ubu, Daevid Allen, Henry Kaiser, Arthur Brown, Peter Blegvad, Ron Geesin, Amy Denio.
There are three CD's released so far: "KEY FIGURES"- 1994, "SCAPEGOAT" - 1998 & "GARMONBOZIA" - 2000.
Recordings of a fourth CD is currently under construction and is estimated to be released in 2009 !
Hopefully a reissue of the long out of print CD "Key Figures" and a DVD "Live at Lilla Teatern" will be released thereafter.

Yo ensemble Nimbusasaurus. I just found out that we're related...and as a special family only present we've made a new song for you called "End of Days" (start doing backflips now). It's an epic instrumental opus to the moment when our ancient Dino relatives saw a large fiery object plummeting towards them. Please come to our page, give it a listen and let us know if it makes you feel like something catastrophic is gonna happen. If the song upsets you too much we will be holding several s support groups (read: comcerts) in the near future. Check our page for locations, dates and times.
"DJ Monkey …soul-stirring, excitingly edgy music…just disturbing (read ‘mind-f**king’) enough to demand attention. There is a whole spice rack of auditory flavors here, served up like fractured poetry on a collection of intensely listenable Hallmark cards from Hell." Bill Margold, Cinema Seen, L.A. X..Press
