The biggest reason I work flat rate is because many artists have a hard time working on a clock, and sometimes even I have a hard time with it. No one's gonna be happy if they are constantly checking their watch. I don't like working under pressure and I'm sure you don't like performing under it either. Let's just do it till we get it right yeah? Skip the corporate crap. No contracts. You like what I do, I get payed, you get the material. You don't like what I do, you don't pay, you walk away. Of course, I am always willing to work closely with the artist to ensure *they* get the sound they are expecting even if it means remixing a dozen times. Fact of the matter is, when you succeed, I do too. How's that for an insurance policy?

I bet they do, but its also a great way to compromise/degrade the artistic integrity of a production. Its also killing music. Music killer!!!! lol jk you do what you want I'm just ranting. Not many people feel the same way I do about most things because I am so old school and raw. But, hey, no hard feelings. I would still love to meet sometime when I get back to Austin!
