I am a life coach, a licensed psychologist, singer, and a song writer, and own and operate a private practice in Lanham, MD. where I consult with performing artists and athletes.
I have provided such support for various individual entertainers and also bands/groups, in various venues, to include: SOAC Entrepreneurial Seminar in Baltimore, MD; Duke Ellington School for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC; NEMO music conference in Boston, MA; NIKE All-American Men's Basketball camp in Indianapolis,IN; Independent Music Conference in Philadelphia, PA; Uplifting Minds II music conference in Baltimore, MD; and Los Angeles, CA; and Sojourner Douglass College in Annapolis, MD.
Over the years, I have found so many performing artists who have, despite having the pure gift to entertain (e.g., pure voice, dance moves, athletic ability, instrument playing skill and talent, etc.), lacked the personal insight to fully realize their dreams with regard to their gifts. By fully realize I don't simply mean that they were having difficulty remaining focused and problems consistently performing (which are problems for many entertainers), but that they were signed with record labels and/or teams but finding the pressures of the industry (e.g., the many tours, the 'pushing back' of single/CD release dates, the many groupies/camp members pulling on them for resources, interpersonal conflict with managers/agents/other professionals, and disagreements with band/group/team members) too much for them to bear and maintain an enjoyable quality of life.
The industry is about making money, NOT about helping entertainers remain emotionally and psychologically healthy and strong. Contact me at (jamie@eelsseninternational.com) or (410) 361 - 0658, lets talk about how you can write both award winning songs, plays, and dance moves, while simultaneously (at the same time) writing an award winning life story!
I am also an instructor for the Independent Music Conference and a ThreadMaster for the IndieList.
