   The Environment is Disgusting's Blurbs
About me:
This group is dedicated to those who are committed to changing the environment but dealing with the down and dirty - the icky, messy bits that people don't really want to talk about but are still very important - and making them fun and vaguely glamourous along the way. Alongside other CATE (Crap At The Environment) members, there will be regular challenges, blogs and the like, helping you become a a bit greener and possibly in need of a wash. This is not for the faint-hearted (we're talking nappies, condoms and sanitary products, among other things) but this is rather important stuff and it'll be lots of fun. Remember how great it was to jump in puddles when you were 6? Or to gross out your friends when you were 14? This will be even more fun. I promise.

We've now had 5 years of lies about 9/11, WMD's, and freedom. The real reasons were oil, profiteering, and fascism. Not just Bush, but the news media, most of congress, and all who remain silent. And now they'll use fear to quash dissent. It's nothing new -- it's been going on for ages. War, poverty, ecocide, arrogant bullying --they're all from greed and fear, which come from ignorance. ♥ But it's not too late -- we can still learn to make peace. Talk with people. Love, Eric

With my past couple of months mooncup chat I have been so pleased recently that a few friends are up for trying them and so far I have had two orders placed online for them recently. One got hers today and is totally un-icked by it that I am so chuffed. There were some disgusted folks around but we weren't bothered. And the other friend will get hers in a few days. Proud mooncup owners unite! (",)

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement! They are greatly appreciated. Although I'm not quite so good as to make them into stickers, they're actually just A4 recycled lined paper with masking tape!

Going to do another tonight.

Hello, I don't keep a blog, but just wanted to show the little thing I did for CATE. These are two different toilets in the Drill Hall, London.

"A SANE REVOLUTION" - D.H.LAWRENCE

If you make a revolution, make it for fun,
don't make it in ghastly seriousness,
don't do it in deadly earnest,
do it for fun.

Don't do it just because you hate people,
do it just to spit in their eye.

Don't do it for the money,
do it and be damned to the money.

Don't do it for equality,
do it because we've got too much equality
and it would be fun to upset the apple-cart
and see which ways the apples would go a-rolling.

Don't do it for the working classes.
Do it so we can of all us be little aristocracies on our own
and kick our heels like jolly escaped asses.

Don't do it, anyhow, for international Labour.
Labour is the one thing a man has had too much of.
Let's abolish labour, let's have done with labouring!
WORK CAN BE FUN, SO LET'S ENJOY IT; THEN IT'S NOT LABOUR.
LET'S HAVE IT SO! LET'S MAKE A REVOLUTION FOR FUN!

....

LABOUR OF LOVE!!!

I've got the perfect picture for your Glamorous Environmentalism competition. I'm just waiting for my dad to send it to me again as it was lost when I changed my computer.
But, oh my god will it be worth the wait? I very much think so....

Dear The Environment is Disgusting and friends,

campaign@michaelmeacher.info

For the current Labour leadership election, we are trying an experiment.

Our idea is that we build a screen at the Michael Meacher for Leader Campaign website (www.michaelmeacher.info) with images of campaigners, activists, and supporters.

The screen will be composed of a cybermosaic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cybermosaic) of photographs which link to the websites of the supporters involved.

We would love to hear from you and would be delighted to receive your photographs, website links, and messages of support. Please email them to the address provided above.

Please have a wonderful, prosperous, peaceful and sustainable 2007.

I've finally organised myself enough to remember to take a roll of cellotape out with me on my travels so I can stick up the I Love My Mooncup posters.

Here's some evidence of my first eco-guerilla action on a bus. I thought the driver was going to take it down when he did his rubbish checking at the end of our journey but he left it where it was. A big thank you to him!

Still to get one, has been on my list of things to get around to doing and all this CATE stuff has got me more encouraged. Had already looked up a few websites on it but that's good to see there's a cheaper one mentioned in your blog. Did you know there's a group for this too? I came across it earlier when looking up something else and it's encouraging to read. The "instead" ones are disposable though so that's offputting although there was one tempting advantage.......http://groups.myspace.com/Menstrualcups for info

Hey there,
I've been monthly environmentally disgusting with my Moon Cup for the last two years now. It's a bit gross, but worth all the waste I'm not producing.
Go the Moon Cup! Woo!

Brillant Page, Fantastic idea. I'm to lazy and poor to put solar panels in my roof, but I like to know the little things I can do, the stuff that's easy and helps rather than hinders... I'm also not scared of talking about ickky stuff.

xX Great work.
