Biography:

EN-X (pronounced en – ex) which is short for Entity X, is an entity embodied by members from different walks of life, coming together to bring about something even greater than its individual parts; The X being two lines intersecting at a point, representing reconciliation between one’s inner and outward selves. The evolution of EN-X began with Alvin (vocalist), who felt a very strong calling from within that aroused a distinct need to express and constantly challenge himself to share his thoughts and ideas through writing and composing music; to create compelling and heartfelt pieces that could reach deep down inside and touch the soul; songs that addressed issues of the heart; songs about faith, hope, love, freedom and revolution. He proceeded to work with a couple of friends (Joel and J Xie) from Nanostudios in July 2007, who produced and aided in arranging one of his pieces, titled 'Falling'. Armed with his solo recording, he went out in search for musicians to pursue this new direction in music with. Eventually, he came together with fellow Singaporean Vanessa (Keyboards around August 2007. After several line-up changes (due mostly to scheduling issues and lack of commitment), Ben(Guitars), was the final member to join EN-X in July 2008. Since then, EN-X has grown from strength to strength. They have sent in demo recordings for the NOISE Singapore Festival, in which they managed to win 2nd prize for the online voting competition for the song ‘Falling’ in 2007. They have also joined the Apprenticeship Programme under Noise Singapore in 2008 and have performed many shows in conjunction with Nokia's School Invasion Tour and Noise Singapore. EN-X has also recently made an appearance on the live band show “Live N Loaded” on Mediacorp Channel 5 as the industry pick by the radio DJs the Muttons on FM 98.7 Perfect 10, and was also invited to guest perform for an acoustic live session on Home@98.7fm with radio DJ Soo Wei. A full length album is currently in the works. A collaboration with Nanostudios yet again, their debut album, titled “Brighter Than The Sun” will be released tentatively sometime in the summer of 2009.
