I got rid of Ubuntu a couple of months ago, and just started experimenting with it again. A fresh install with the Wubi installer on Windows and Hardy seems to have fixed a lot of woes that 7.10 had, such as getting wireless drivers (just updating fixed that), and I have to use EnvyNG-gtk drivers, but that's not a big deal, since it seems to be running quite well. It's not as glitchy as upgrading from 7.10, and the WUBI installer is just genius.
I'm starting to understand the architecture of Linux a little better now, as well.
I'll probably be calling soon, to see what's been going down, and if you've gotten Spore or not.
In other news, I've crowned myself an idiot because I attempted to clean the laptop monitor, and apparently messed it up. There are splotches of brightness, then everything else seems to have darkened since I used 409 and paper towels. It was about 2:30 in the morning when I did this. Blah. ScreenTek Inc has replacements for $295 plus $20ish for shipping. That's the next big thing on my "save for" list. I'm really mad at myself.
