  • General

  • Music

My favorite singer-my daughter- JACQUELINE EPCAR! My favorite drummer-my son-JON EPCAR! of 'CARNEY'. I really like a wide range of music from Jazz, Blues, Rock, Classical and Pop. Not crazy about CW or klezmer music. I love a lot of the rock from the 60's and 70's, some modern stuff. I also play the drums so this is the kind of stuff I like to play--Beatles, Moody Blues, Elvis, Eric Clapton, Sting, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Joni Mitchell, Chi Coltrane, Sinatra, Elton John and I love anything James Bond.
  • Movies

James Bond. Favorite Bond Girls --Ursula Andress of course and I really liked Izabella Scorupco in Golden Eye, Claudine Auger and Luciana Paluzzi in Thunderball-very sexy, Diana Rigg in OHMSS, Helga Brandt in You Only Live Twice, Madeline Smith in Live and Let Die, Michelle Yeoh in Tomorrow Never Dies, and Caterina Murino was very sexy in Casino Royale-to name a few. There Will Be Blood, Shawshank Redemption, Patton, Memoirs of An Invisible Man (because I was in it) Star Wars (the old ones not the new ones) Godfather I and II, Cinema Paradiso (I wrote and directed the English adaptation) Dirty Harry, Rocky, Die Hard I and IV, Batman Begins (they finally got it right) Superman (with Chris Reeve) King of Hearts, King Kong, Music Man, Aliens, Galaxy Quest, some Star Trek, Moulin Rouge, Equilibrium, Street Car Named Desire, 7 Year Itch, Odd Couple, Network, Raging Bull, Carousel, 10, The Bellboy, The Lion In Winter, Cries and Whispers, Swept Away (the original not that crappy remake with Madonna), Seven Beauties, The Sting, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Giant, Rebel Without a Cause, Intolerance, The Good Earth, The Good The Bad and The Ugly, Apocalypse Now, Ragtime, Somewhere in Time, Bananas, Annie Hall, Shoot'em Up, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Fist Full of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More (more to come)
  • Television

Entourage, Seinfeld, Boston Legal, Burn Notice, Venture Bros., Flight of the Concords, The Prisoner, Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex (had to include that!) Whose Line is it Anyway?, Just Shoot Me, Family Guy, Miami Vice (That's right!) Bill Maher, John Stewart, Weeds, As Time Goes By (great English show with Judi Dench)
  • Books

Anything James Bond--are you seeing a pattern here? I've read all the Bond books. Great Gatsby, Lots of biographies, Elvis, Lenny Bruce, Sean Connery, Jack Benny, Eastwood, Lincoln, most Sherlock Holmes novels, Godfather, Flowers for Algenon, Catcher in the Rye, I'm writing a book right now! (more to come)
  • Heroes

'Batou' in 'Ghost in the Shell' is a hero of mine and here's what he had to say about me when he was interviewed recently... -How do you think Richard Epcar did in portraying you? I think he really nailed me. They originally wanted Johnny Depp or Ben Affleck to play me, but they're way too wimpy, it would've sucked. Stallone auditioned, but no one could understood a thing he said. Sean Connery was too old. Then they wanted Cate Blanchett to play me and I said, NO WAY!! Thankfully Epcar was available and if I do say so myself, I think he's doing an excellent job. When he kicks ass and rips the heads off of the bad guys and then says a funny line to ease the tension, I feel like, yeah, that's how I'd do it. -Did you work with him prior to the recording, to make sure he really got you? Yeah, at first I thought they were going to send me some wimpy Hollywood actor, but this Epcar guy was tough as nails. We would train every morning together at the gym and this guy could almost keep up with me. We also trained in combat, weapons, martial arts, downloading software with your head, and police procedure. He basically rode along with me every day for a couple of months and went on investigations with me. One time, he really freaked out when I had to shoot someone with my arm gun. Poor bastard didn't realize I had a powerful weapon concealed in my arm and when I discharged it at a crazed Gynoid , he nearly crapped himself. -Now that Ghost in the Shell has been so successful, do you ever get recognized? Well once in a while a crazed fan will ask me over to play a game of 'pin the tail on the Major' but I try to lay low. I work mostly undercover so I don't like to stick out. Of course in my case, it's hard for me not to stick out. But if things get too hairy, I just go invisible. -What are the tachikoma really like? They are tactical tanks and are really great weapons in a battle. They can do amazing things and if I'm going into a tactical combat situation, I can't think of a better tool to have. But thankfully they don't really sound like they do on the show. They sound more computerized and not so squeaky and girlie. I wonder who the wizard was who came up with those annoying voices. -Which is better: being a cop with Section 9 or being a TV/movie star? Well being a star is alright, but I could never give up being a cop. I'd miss the action too much. Besides filming bores the crap outta me. There's a lot of sitting around. Then again, stake-outs can be pretty boring too. -Do you think they should make more Ghost in the Shell features starring you? Hell yes! But only if Epcar plays me. I don't want any of those Canadian or Texas fruitcakes playing me!!
