Nova Rockafeller is a 21 year old Edmonton born but Jamaica raised rapper, producer and studio engineer. As a contributing member of the local hip hop scene for three years, the artist formerly known as Elle Dirty D or epdMC has made a name for herself and is commonly recognized as one of the most prominent female emcees in Western Canada.

Currenty in the final stages of completing her debut Album entitled Insufficient Funds (March 2010) Nova has begun performing again after a six month hiatus with which she used to write her album. Taking inspiration from musicians like The Fugees, Classified, Everlast, Tribe Called Quest and Damien Marley, she has worked hard to effectively combine key elements from accoustic rock, hip hop and pop music to make something fresh and diverse. Her stye of music can best be described as rugged urban pop music with straight to the point and intelligent lyrics.

"My upcoming album will reflect me a lot more than I've been able to in the past. Overall, it's a really deep album with a lot of hard-hitting verses. I had a rough life growing up and it shows. I didn't really have anybody to lean on and I went from group homes to living on the street to being abused by people close to me. I had to get the hard stuff off my chest first, so that's what this album is. It's almost confessional." Judging 10 KOTD battles (Canada's battle league) in both the Alberta and Ontario Divisions, performing countless shows and maintaining decent plays on various websites, Nova is recognized as one of Canada's underground (almost) celebrities. Unfortunately that doesn't pay and with about $.80 in her bank account... her funds are still Insufficient. So equipped with a minimalistic lifestyle and big dreams.. Nova Rockafeller will continue to work hard and make that steady climb to the top.
