US Wind & Water Open (formerly Velocity Games), which features the US
Wind Surfing Regatta, the US Kiteboarding Open, the USWWO Expo, &
the USWWO 5K run. The USWWO 5K is the official warm-up run for the
Beach to Bay Relay Marathon and features a $1200 Purse. Competitors from all
over the world travel to Corpus Christi, Texas, which is known for high winds &
warm waters, to participate in the US Wind & Water Open for a chance to win
over $25K in prizes & money & to showcase their talents in extreme water sports to

Epic Sports manages Conquer the Coast. 3 levels of rides being offered again this year: a 25 mile cruise, a 65 mile ride and a second 65 mile ride including the “Toughest 18 Miles in Texas" Time Trial.
25 Mile Cruise: A quick cruise along Ocean Dr.; one of the most beautiful and prestigious boulevards in Texas.
65 Mile Ride: Encompasses the Corpus Christi Bay including:
a beautiful sunrise climb over the Harbor Bridge, which is sure to take your breath away
a route through the coastal communities and fishing villages of Portland, Ingleside, Aransas Pass, and Port Aransas;
hop a ferry for a ride across the intercoastal canal featuring playful dolphins;
travel down Padre Island, across the JFK Causeway, through Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi and down Ocean Drive
The Toughest 18 Miles in Texas Time Trial is offered to participants who want to have an added challenge and will again be included within the 65 mile ride. Beginning this year will be a time trial within the time trial, the "Donny Kloster Memorial Mile" -the last mile of the Toughest 18 Miles in Texas.
Proceeds generated by the ride benefit the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Tarpon Foundation and the Corpus Christi Chamber Foundation.
January 5, 2008, Epic Sports & Entertainment kicks off the new year
with the Oso Creek 5k Run, Walk & Stroller Push. The Oso Creek 5k
features over $1050 in purse money for the Timed Run and $450 in
Saving Bonds for the Children's Run. The Oso Creek 5k host a 2 mile
run for children 9 & under for a chance to win cool prizes from the
Corpus Christi Hooks baseball team!

Know an artist?? Are you one?? The House of Rock (511 Starr Street) is hosting an art show benefiting the Brown Bag Challenge (all silent auction proceeds to benefit the Brown Bag Challenge) on Tues, Dec. 4 from 8-10 pm. The House of Rock is searching for artists to display their favorite pieces of art for the exhibit (all art is welcomed - from photos to paintings) - sales are optional. Many of the participating artists are donating pieces of art to the silent auction to help raise funds for the Brown Bag Challenge's Christmas Event (we want to serve hot food again this year). Our goal is to raise $200 (that's it, with that we can feed over 150 of Corpus Christi's hungry and homeless). Please make plans to attend "The Art of Giving". Support local artists and your community!
