Epic Turn is an UNSIGNED Tampa-based band soaring with aggressive and innovatively structured rhythms, ambient guitar tones, and motivational vocals. The band’s soul purpose of tasteful originality is driven by their obsession of music as an art. Each member is backed by a various and eclectic supply influences ranging from the light and the heavy, the simple and the complex, the independent and commercial. This clash results in a noise catering to a variety of avid listeners.
The band consists of four talents in a formation of drums, bass, one guitar, and lead vocals, periodically backed by harmonies and screams. The band’s intention of bringing a one-guitar sound is to allow a balanced tone between low and high ends, giving room for the bass guitar to bring attention to itself, not by conforming to the riffs of the guitar but by stretching the melody with intricate patterns, while still living up to the purpose of connecting the drums and guitar. The picture is then completed by the vocals; catchy choruses, impacting lyrics, bouncy hooks and upbeat melodies.
The band started in late 2007, founded by guitarrist Ken and drummer Shane, then completed by singer Angel and bass player V. The band has been non-stop since their first show in mid - January of 2008. Each member is original; never has anyone been replaced. The band is a group of close friends; almost like family, which is important for a band of busy musicians in pursuit of ultimate success.
Epic Turn’s mission is both intellectual and spiritual. The name was never official until each member came together to discover the meaning of it. The name was defined by the singer as “a turn of events”, which to him meant a change in both the music and the very morals of life itself. It represents reasoning outside of the box. Their ultimate goal is to reach out to the fans to find their own meaning. Epic Turn is ready to set new standards in the music industry.
