Biography
Coming out of Miami,Florida, Epidemic started battling at the early age of 14. Battling upperclassmen with his natural abilities he shut down older, more experienced rappers. He made his name on the streets with his aggresive flow and lyrics. He never chose the name Epidemic, it was actually "bestowed upon him" because people used to refer to his punchlines as contageous. Epidemic's high school battles grew crowds of 2 to 3 thousand people - many of them actually female. Since then, his alter ego was spawned as "The Ladies Man". Eventually, Epidemic retired from battling and made the transition from battle rapper to recording artist. While attending Miami Dade Community College at the young age of sixteen, he met up with producer J Rock. J Rock liked his style and eventually Epidemic signed to independent powerhouse Strictly Business Records. His influences range from Wu tang, Jay Z, Big Daddy Kane, and Biggie, but he tends to stay away from newer music because he prefers to keep his influences solely from the founders of hip hop today. When asked what separated him from other down south rappers he answered ..almost everything....this elitist view is shared by many of his peers because of the masterful combination of his lyricism and carefree swagger. Epidemic relates his life frequently to a board game - when he isn't rapping he's giving check mates in speed chess. "Chess is a big part of my life, it keeps my focus balanced and allows me to analyaze possible outcomes for ensured success", he states. He has worked with multi-platinum artists, producers and well known DJs such as DJ Quote, Baby from Cash Money Millionaires, Cool & Dre, Manny Fresh, Diaz Bros and Jim Jonsin. He recently performed at five shows in Germany at the World Cup in 2006. He's also graced the various stages like House Of Blues and the television appearances across the country. "I worked hard to get where I am today, but I'm nowhere near satisfied". Go get EPIDEMIC FIRST EXPOSURE! WWW.GOEPIDEMIC.COM
