After more than 10 years of inactivity, we've decided to record (and re-record, in some cases) the 12 songs that we wrote as Epitaph many many years ago. With the exception of "Damaged Reason", these songs were written between 1987 and 1990 when we were in our early-mid teens. Back then, the only way we could afford to record our songs was on a Tascam 4-track cassette recorder. So the only tapes that existed of these songs were practice tapes recorded on a boom box in Keith's basement.
It's been a lot of fun (and little humbling) trying to relearn songs that we wrote 20 years ago, but at least we finally have decent recordings of these tunes to share with anyone willing to listen.
Rough mixes:
Forced Vengeance We wrote this song in the summer of 1989 and it instantly became a permanent fixture in our live sets. One of my personal favorites.
3 In 1990, Keith joined the marines and we were left without a drummer for awhile. Me, John and Dave got together to jam in my garage and wrote three new songs. Before they had titles, we simply referred to them as 1, 2, and 3. The first two songs were renamed, but we decided to stick with "3" as the title for this one. This song has never been played outside of Marc's basement.
Paralyzed This was one of the first four songs we ever wrote, and the first Epitaph tune I ever... um, "sang" on.
Humanity (No More)(added 6/26/2006) This is another tune written during our drummerless period. John finishes this one off with a rippin' lead.
As more songs are completed, I'll upload them so you can check them out.
For those of you who remember us, this should bring back some memories. For those who never knew us, check it out... you won't hear stuff like this again anytime soon.
