EQD comprises of Dale Edwards (Sax), Quinn Luxford (Bass) and Ebbo Brown (Drums). All three are not new names to the local scene but have consistently wowed crowds with their ability and finesse. Brown bringing some 15 plus years of live performance in Bathurst beginning with rock group Stavebud in the late 90’s in to 2000, Edwards better known for his jazz trio work and Luxford for rocking covers acts and recent qualifying performances in Rock up with both Edwards and Brown hailing from the imploded “Rustyballs” live dance outfit.
The three lads have combined a myriad of influences to create a unique sound. Drawing on everything from Herbie Hancock fusion sounds from Edwards' electrified sax tones to the solid but unobtrusive rythms form Brown and Luxfords' fast finger work and unison patterns with Edwards.
Brown formed the group in early 2007 with the intention to gig by april that year but as with all things of quality it takes time to get the sound just right. Brown and Luxford jammed out for about 12 months before Edwards was brought in having been fed the tapes from the earloy sessions at the studio.
The jams were edited and a list of about 30 tunes was ready for the full treatment with Edwards now fixed in the line up. Edwards presence and musicality bringing a new found and more solid direction with form and structure providing Brown and Luxford with the chance to really lock in on each others playing.
The rest is history as they say with the group now booking and playing shows with much buzz being generated from the critics helping to spread the word amongst the punters and fellow muso's alike.
Since the beginning of 2009 the three have been busy gigging in Bathurst and surrounding areas to much accolade. Doing close to a gig every fortnight the EQD brand gets more and more attention.
EQD have now secured the headline for 2009's "Sounds Live" performance for 2mce FM in Bathurst. This is a live radio broadcast event giving the lads potetially international exposure via the live web stream on the 2mce FM website.
EQD are selling demo's at shows and have been popular with punters.
