EQUESTRIAN has been making music in the bedrooms of lovers and on the porches of drug dealers in Bushwick, Brooklyn since 2007 when Ryan Downey began strumming and screaming into the microphone in his Macbook. Realizing exactly how ridiculous he looked, he enlisted the assistance of Daniel Corrigan, who accepted an invitation to share his bed in Brooklyn while they prepared to look just as ridiculous in public. There was lots of smoke and lots of walking. The pieces all fell together quite nicely and if they had had their way, all of their performances would have taken place in that bedroom were it not for the Fire Warden’s limit of 2 (two) occupants in the room at any given time. Along the way, they have picked up (along with some very questionable habits) various Kent State University expatriates sent in aimless wanderlust about the Great American Empire like so much Midwestern drifters, chief among them Conor MacDowell and Justin Hofmann. They have been fortunate enough to endear themselves to a host of talented collaborators along the way and the bands lineup and instrumental orientation is rarely consistent show to show (as it were). They make music that evokes images of bridges and empty subway cars; of static digital displays; of somke rings surrounding telephone wires held parallel above the pavement by erected posts cut from trees and driven into the ground by man and stretching across all of the Great American Landscape.

There is no truth whatsoever to the rumor that Equestrian is from Ohio, or any of the other "mid-western" states. There is no truth to the rumor that we are from anywhere at all. Nor has anyone produced any evidence that would support the theory, in any capacity, that any member (whether permanent or temporary) of the Equestrian organization is anything less than what they espouse to be: god-fearing moralists whose sole purpose is to sweeten the bitter, spoiled skin of this rotting apple from it's very loins, Brooklyn, New York.
