The buzz on music row is that country's resurgence will likely be led by a new artist -- someone with a big voice, fresh perspective and new big energy. Well that new big energy is here in the form of a big ole' country boy and his name........................ERIC AGNEW.
Born and raised in Floyds Knobs, a small town in Southern Indiana (one flashing light), Eric grew up with many musical influences. But it was watching "Hee Haw" on Saturday nights with his grandmother that sparked Eric's interest in country music and performing. But like most teenagers in Indiana Eric spent a great deal of time playing sports, concentrating on basketball and tennis. Then in 1986 when his older brother Todd gave him a tape of Randy Travis, Eric was hooked. Travis's influence, along with George Strait, Kenny Rogers, Alabama, and finally a singer with overwhelming influence named Garth Brooks, helped Eric make the decision that a music career was in his future.
Honing his talents by performing at clubs throughout Nashville and doing shows on the road, Eric gives his all when he is on stage or in the studio. With his wide vocal range and diverse style, Eric's music spans a wide range of emotion from the anticipation of a Friday night out with the boys to the passion of a loving soul mate. In a day and time when pop dominates the music world and many country artists seem more concerned about crossover success or just looking good, Eric can actually SING and is not afraid to do what he loves in traditional country music. Eric's high energy and vocal intensity onstage, combine to create a sound that has gained support and demands attention.
