Performing Songwriter Magazine describes singer-songwriter Eric Anders' music as "touching on the trance-like ecstasy of David Gray and the deadly seriousness of Nick Drake Anders is as engaging a singer and musician as he is writer."
According to music critic Gail Worley: "Eric Anders is an obscure, independent singer-songwriter whose unaffected ability to turn a phrase and otherworldly knack for arranging transcendent, melancholy melodies would have made him a superstar you know, if records still sold based on talent."
Gail ranked Eric's sophomore release, More Regrets, number 4 on her list of the top ten Cds of 2005. In 2004, she ranked Eric's debut release, Not At One, number 11 Cd--and the song "Struggle" the number 4 song--on her Starpolish list of the best of 2004.
CD Baby's founder Derek Sivers, someone who hears thousands of CDs every year, said the following about Eric's debut Not At One: "one of the best CD's I've ever heard." Music critic Mark Wilson wrote that Eric Anders' second full-length release, More Regrets, is "a masterpiece of dark, ambient textures, layered soundscapes and subtly hypnotic grooves."
Eric's third and latest full-length release, Tethered to the Ground, was produced by Matt Brown of Trespassers William. Two other members of Trespassers William--lead singer Anna-Lynne Williams and bassist Ross Simonini--also played big rolls in the new direction Eric takes in Tethered to the Ground.
