About Erica Seguine

Erica Seguine is currently studying at the Eastman School of Music for Jazz Studies and Contemporary Media with a writing (composition) concentration. She studies jazz composition with Bill Dobbins, jazz piano with Harold Danko, and studied classical piano with Tony Caramia.

Erica's works have been performed by the Eastman Jazz Ensemble, The Eastman Studio Orchestra, and various combos and configurations inside and outside of Eastman. She has written a piece for classical/jazz trombonist Catie Hickey for trombone, string quartet, and rhythm section, an arrangement of Spain for a performance by Astral saxophonist Douglas O'Connor, and arrangements of songs by female jazz singers for Dr. Sylvie Beaudette.

Erica's pieces have been performed at the 2007 and 2008 Women in Music Festivals in Rochester, NY, and her arrangement of "Sweet Georgia Brown" for big band was played at the 2007 Rochester International Jazz Festival Scholarship Concert.

Erica has recently assembled the Erica Seguine Jazz Orchestra (ESJO), assembled mostly of musicians in the Albany area, who perform originals/arrangements by her as well as members of the band. Their debut performance was at The Linda (WAMC Performing Arts Studio) in Albany, which received great reviews. They also recently performed at The Schenectady Muddy Cup, inside the Proctors Arcade.
