I also love good people, conversations, moments, movies, books, sleep, and good food!
Music
I must plug my own band, Monkeysoop - I love our music. I adore Les Claypool and virtually any music he puts out there, Frank Zappa, Green Jelly, Metallica, the Rolling Stones, Misfits, Rush, Type-O Negative (Peter Steel, such a hottie!!), Faith No More (Mike Patton - fabulous voice!), the Violent Femmes, The Radioactive Chicken Heads, Live, KISS, Spinal Tap, Prince, Anthrax, Sepultura, Depeche Mode, the Pixies, Duran Duran, Ashley McIsaac, Iron Maiden, Lizzy Borden, Stolen Babies, Gogol Bordello, Bjork, the Beastie Boys, Rage Against the Machine, The RedHotChiliPeppers (Flea inspired me to play bass - I blame him :) )!
Movies
Blow, Semi-Pro, Blade Runner, Hellboy, Hellboy II, Donnie Darko, Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Star Wars Saga (Empire Strikes Back was the fave), The Devil's Rejects, Garage Days, Thunderstruck, virtually any film involving a band or musician (existing or imagined), Fight Club, Poor White Trash, Hold Me - Thrill Me - Kiss Me, Sin City, all the Saw movies, Clerks 2, Knocked Up, Blades of Glory, Walk the Line, You and Me and Everyone We Know, Fever Pitch, 50 First Dates, Music and Lyrics (anything with Drew Barrymore, virtually anything with Adam Sandler), Spiderman III, The Incredibles, Blood In - Blood Out, The Gift, The Ring, Stir of Echoes, Terminator I, II, and even III, Alien and Aliens, Trading Places, Dancer in the Dark (though I can only watch it on very rare occasions with lots of Kleenex handy - Bjork's an incredibly gifted actress and it's a shame she's not doing anything more with that). . . and many more
Television
Gene Simmons Family Jewels, otherwise I don't, unless there are absolutely no good movies on cable or I'm too lazy to put a DVD on.
When I was a kid, I watched nearly every cartoon available and I really liked the Transformers and Thundercats - if I missed an episode of Thundercats, my whole day was shot.
Books
Les Claypool's "South of the Pumphouse" was great."The Lovely Bones" was fabulous and I can't wait to see the movie. I'm a fan of the Clan of the Cave Bear series and I'm getting irritated that Jean M. Auel still hasn't released the last book - it's been five years, Jean, hurry up already! I like virtually everything I've read by Stephen King - loved the movie version of "The Mist" - probably my favorite King book adaptation yet. "The Stand" is still my favorite King novel.
Comic Books - whole different category: I used to read X-Men (all twelve titles or so), the New Mutants (Illyana Rasputin, aka Magik, was awesome and I stopped reading the X-Men related titles when they got rid of her character - idiots!), the first few issues of Excalibur (the artwork was fabulous!) and Elfquest was/is awesome! Wendy and Richard Pini, if you're reading this, call me if you ever need another illustrator to work on Elfquest - you said you liked my work a few years back - I'm still available and interested!
Heroes
I've learned something from everyone I've ever known and I've been very fortunate to have known mostly wonderful people throughout my life - to all my friends and teachers, past and present, and close relatives who have helped shape me into the person I am today - thank you for being you.

My name is Erica Missey - I am a full-time caricaturist and artist, providing professional caricatures and artwork since 1994.
I live and work in the San Antonio area, but I also draw at parties in and around Austin, Houston, Corpus Christi, Laredo, Dallas, and the Rio Grande Valley. I can also travel out of state or arrange for another artist to work at an event for you in many parts of the country.
Need more than one caricaturist for your event? That can be arranged! I work with the finest caricature artsts in San Antonio and would be happy to arrange for as many artists as you need, for parties ranging in size from 10 people to 10,000, to make your event unforgettable!
Hablo poquito espanol - a las fiestas mejor que por telefono. Cuando esta hablando conmigo, habla mas despacio, por favor :).
In 2004, I opened a seasonal caricature stand at the San Antonio Zoo. The stand is generally open during Spring Break and the summer months - it is always best to call (210) 241-4838 for the days and hours of operation.
When not working as a caricaturist at parties, I do manner of graphic art, illustration, animation, advertising, web design, fine art, and caricaturing from my home office as well as give lectures on caricatures and animation to childrens' and adults' groups alike.
In 2006, three of my studio caricatures were published in Ben Cormack's book "Cartoon Clinic". In 2007, the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio commissioned me to do an outside mural for the construction wall in front of the new wing of the museum, due to open in 2008.
In 2007, I also had the honor of illustrating AGMAN GAMES first card game, "Reels & Deals: The Movie-Making Card Game", and designing their website.
For more information about my caricatures and commissions, please visit ERICATURES.COM. You can also message me here or call me at (210) 241-4838.
Since 2003, I've also managed and played bass guitar for the band MONKEYSOOP. We've released three CDs internationally through SONIC WAVE INTERNATIONAL and we play live all over South Texas.
In addition to playing in Monkeysoop, I've had the honor of playing & recording with JASON GERARD and recording with MANI SIERRA.
