   Eric Elfman's Blurbs
About me:
I'm the author of a bunch of children's books and Young Adult novels, including three off-beat almancs: ALMANAC OF THE GROSS, DISGUSTING & TOTALLY REPULSIVE; THE VERY SCARY ALMANAC; and ALMANAC OF ALIEN ENCOUNTERS (published by Random House). Maybe you've read 'em? I also wrote three X-FILES novels (HarperCollins) and two books of scary short stories, THREE MINUTE THRILLERS and MORE THREE MINUTE THRILLERS (Lowell House). My newest book, THE DEVIL YOU KNOW, a YA horror novel, will be published later this year.

In the movie biz my screenplay, CLASS ACT (co-written with Neal Shusterman) is in development at Walden Media, starring Halle Berry, with Doug Atchison set to direct. It's the true story of an elementary school teacher who ran for Congress -- with her sixth-grade students running her campaign! I've also written scripts and developed projects for Universal, Sony, Disney and Dreamworks.

If you want to learn lots of fun, gross, and scary facts, and to find out more about my books and screenplays, visit my official website: ElfmanWorld.com

I'm also coaching writers hoping to get their books published and screenplays produced. Whether you have a first or polished draft, or just an idea or outline, if you would like some feedback on your work, take a look at my coaching website: EricElfmanCoaching.com -- I'd love to talk to you!

Who I'd like to meet:
If you've read any of my books, I'd love to hear from you! If you're a teacher or librarian, I'd appreciate any feedback.

And if you're a writer of children's books trying to get published, please visit my coaching website: EricElfmanCoaching.com

Hey Eric, how are you? Have you heard the band Okkervil River? They're my new faves, kind of indie-folk, really good. Anyway, happy October.

Hey, you! Still thinking of you often, so many changes distracting me from writing to you. That light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter, so expect a novelette out of the blue soon. I was noting in your books The Princess Bride, one of my personal favorites as well as the kids', and this was introduced to me by you. The other book is A Winter's Tale, still one of my top favs, and I introduced that to you. Very important we ever met up, non? Hoping this finds you, Jan, Robbie happy and healthy. You know, the Industry is out here now. We don't have earthquakes and live on the Ring O Fire. And the air is better here. More nudges forthcoming. I am still always on a mission to save lives but that is another story for another time. xxxxooooxxxx S.

hey that's awesome! i didn't know you had a coaching website! i will go!
i was going to take a workshop but it was a little expensive--i coulda swung the cost but getting there back and forth woulda been a problem

that's wonderful eric

~thank you. it is VERY NICE for you to reach out and help others~ :-)

you can read my blogs if you have time, they're very... uh.... "conversational." ha ha
i take alot of guff for writing online so much but i have two words for people who criticize me: DIABLO CODY, she was "discovered" thanks to her blog. um, but her blog was "racy." mine is just silly. maybe it's a LITTLE racy SOMETIMES, but that certainly isn't the focus...

well, i'm sure i will learn alot from your other website.

when arlo's older we'll get him your very scary almanac, he likes "scary things" he wanted to see the new indiana jones just for the crystal skulls! and he's only four! and he loves "the fire skeleton" (ghost rider) aw, he's so cute.

Hey, Eric -

Nice to meet you. Thanks for adding me to your friends.

Congrats on the children's books and screenplay! You must be pleased.

Books for children and tweens is one genre I'd like to explore in my writing.

We should definitely talk ... at the very least, you may find my first adventure in "the business" entertaining.

Continued success!

Michael
