www.ericklotz.org

Eric Klotz grew up in northwestern Iowa and began playing the guitar at the age of 9. He holds a bachelors and masters in music performance from Minnesota State University Moorhead, where he studied jazz with Glenn Ginn, a University of North Texas graduate, and Dan Phillips, a Berklee College of Music/Northwestern University graduate. Eric has been privileged to perform in a variety of contexts such as rock coverbands, jazz/fusion groups, solo classical, and studio session work. He has also been fortunate to teach guitar as the Adjunct Guitar Instructor at Minnesota State University Moorhead, through various music stores, and currently maintains a private teaching studio. He currently is involved in a few new projects and continues to lead his own group, the Eric Klotz Trio.

Great tunes, Eric! Preoccupied with school and parenthood, I hadn't logged onto MySpace in months. What a nice surprise to hear "ism".

Got to catch a good portion of the show last night and really enjoyed it. I know it wasn't the typical "jazz" setting, but really liked your interpretations of some great standards.

Eric

I really enjoyed your playing at IMC last week (I was one of the deans) and I love your original compositions, really good stuff. Your humility on the stage was also very inspiring, you seem to be very selfless with your music and seeing it really moved me to aim for a similar relationship with my own musical pursuits. Thanks for your tips on comping and I wish you the best with your music.

Well, I don't have a giftcard to offer, but I do have good news! The Berklee audition is going to be on December 7th at the Chicago Acadamy for the Arts. So, obviously, I will be in town some time around that date. I'll probably send you another super-long email once I figure out more details.
