Influences	2+2=4 is an old equation but it STILL equals four! Some things are true for a long time no matter the era they are in. This ideology applies to some of Eric Mattei's influences such as: Neil Young, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Peter Gabriel, Bob Marley, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Senior, Jimi Hendrix, The Travelling Wilburys, and Tom Petty. Some of Eric's more recent influences include groups like: Kos, Sam Roberts, Radiohead, John Mayer, U2, Pearl Jam, Dallas Green, Blink 182 and Coldplay. All of these artists share a part in texturing Eric Mattei's sound which features sharp acoustic guitar playing and a vocal style that honestly conveys emotion.

How many people did you pass by as you were walking today?

Did you say hello to just one of them?

This is Lonely Commotion.

Throughout a very difficult time in 2005/06 Eric Mattei kept the idea of Lonely Commotion foremost in his mind.

As a reaction to this difficult time in his life; Eric eventually reached for his acoustic guitar on his 31st birthday. He hadn’t played his guitar in over a decade and those 11 years of neglect had turned his guitar into furniture rather than an instrument. As Eric slowly resuscitated his guitar back to life he simultaneously taught himself to play music again.

Eric began to weave his life story through a collection of songs.

After meeting with top recording engineer; Robin Eccleston, Eric began recording Lonely Commotion at Lyrics and Beats Productions in Toronto. Eric sang all the vocals on the album, played all the guitars, bass and also produced as well as wrote the entire project. Just nine months later; Eric’s stunning 16 song effort; Lonely Commotion, was released.

It's been an amazing journey…..so far…..

Eric Mattei currently resides in the City he was born; Toronto, Ontario-Canada. He's a self taught musician and vocalist.

Lonely Commotion, is a 16 song effort by Eric Mattei. The album uses blends of rich vocal harmonies, warm acoustic guitars and strong melodies in songs which range from moving interludes to forceful messages about living and relationships.

Eric Mattei's live performances are stripped down acoustic sets. With only his voice and his acoustic guitar. There are no barriers barriers between himself and his message to his audience.
