I am a music producer/audio engineer. I lived in Lincoln, Nebraska for 20 years, then moved to Charleston, South Carolina. I was involved in the Nebraska music scene for quite some time as an indie music producer. I worked with many indie labels and their artists such as Saddle Creek (Bright Eyes, The Faint, Cursive) ismist (Dan Schlissel), Caulfield Records as well as several national releases. For a list of credits, go to my website. I currently run a recording/mixing
space called Eric Medley Music Productions. I also manage Tremulant Records,
a small indie label with 14 artists. I’ve been recording bands for over
25 years. Visit www.ericmedley.com for more details on that set of issues...
...Eric
Medley Band: This is simply an outlet for my music. EM Band
is acoustic guitar/vocal driven alternative pop rock......I’ve been an
audio engineer/producer for some 22 years or so. I’ve recorded a lot of
people’s music (over 300 projects) and played in quite a few bands. The
first solo project (Worms For Sale - released 1999) was simply my attempt
to record the smattering of songs I had written over the time I had left
Studio Q.
......I
borrowed some of the musicians I had been working with and recorded the
record. The release concert was held at The Bridge in Lincoln. I was surprised
by the overwhelming support. We just kept going at our slow pace, taking
gigs when they came along. It was never meant to be anything close to
full-time......I followed up with the 2nd release (Shine - released 2001)
using the same set of musicians. The 2nd record was a little more cohearent.
I also tended to be less of a dictator, allowing the musicians to color
the songs with their own skills and talents.
Two
of the songs from Shine (Crucible and Indesctructible) were in the 1
spot in the Alternative genre on MP3.com for 18 and 24 weeks respectively.
Songs from Shine were downloaded over 35,000 times......
