I can't tell you how many times I've created a MySpace page and then deleted it later. It's the tension between wanting to share the music I've been given and not being prideful/self-promoting about it. But I can tell you that I'm more comfortable in my own skin as of late and feel the need to share what I've been given. Perspective is the key, and one day all we see will be no more. But I'm gonna do my best to enjoy it all now -- in the present tense.
Anyhoo, I am the husband of Dianne...a beautiful woman (inside and out) who has taught me more about love, commitment, and life than any other human being. We've been through a whole lot and are starting to see the other (very good!) side of things. She is my best friend, my love, and my teacher.
My wonderful children are Callie ('94), Sam ('98), and Joey ('01.) They have my heart and I have theirs....and they have taught me so much (and continue to on a daily basis.) Just when I think I've got something figured out re: parenting, I'm given a new challenge. But I'm cool with that....
My first song was called "Never to Mine" written at age 7. My dad sent it off to be published (maybe he really did, or maybe he just said he did)...we never heard back. I have been writing original music consistently since the late 90's....some of it good, some of it not so good. God has used this music not only in the lives of others but a lot in me...especially lately. My hope is that He keeps doing that...I really enjoy it. Some of my music has received radio airplay throughout St. Louis which felt pretty cool for me.
I serve at Oak Bridge Community Church as a singer/guitarist and play out at various events from time to time. Our church is great and I was one of the original group that helped start it back in 2003. My buddies Dan, Nick, Chris and I are working on an original music project currently.
I grew up in Albion, MI -- a lot of good memories and good friends from that season of life. I graduated from high school in Neosho, MO. After that I went to SEMO in Cape Girardeau, MO, met Dianne, got married, then took off with my new bride to see the world in the Marine Corps. Since leaving the USMC in 1997 I have been an IT Manager. I like my day-job, but it's my family and ministry that keep my heart pumping. Well, technically God keeps my heart pumping, but you know what I mean!
I became a Christian in 1998. It's been a good journey, but like any journey, it has had its bumps along the way. I'm doing my best to follow Jesus everyday. I'm a work in progress (name of a band I used to be in, too.) And I'm ok with that, I really am. I'm learning to be a little more gracious with myself....because my King, my family, and my friends have been very gracious to me!
