U2, Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Better Than Ezra (hometown New Orleans boys), David Crowder, Damien Rice, James Blunt, Charlie Hall, and sappy power ballads when I was growing up. There are so many more bands and writers - Coldplay, Keane, The Afters, Starfield, Johnny Cash, Lenny Kravitz, Vineyard, Sting, and Bebo Norman (the Try album expecially) to name a few...
Right now I'm solo, writing songs, and working on putting together a CD this next year. Until mid-August of '08, I was leading worship at Castle Hills FBC in San Antonio for the Mosaic service on Sunday mornings. Now, I'm living in Big D after leaving San Antonio at the end of last year.
I'm continuing to develop as a singer/songwriter and learned a great deal in the summer of 2005 on a songwriting journey through Europe. The trip was a turning point in my life - seems like I learned a lot in terms of joy, pain, and trusting God. I've made mistakes and seemed to have taken wrong turns, yet when I'm done with MY way, God seems to step in and bring me back to my senses.
One thing I've consistently learned is the fact that God has it all under control, even when we feel like we are stumbling or flailing about in our lives. I feel blessed by His grace and mercy, the sacrifice of Christ, and to be where I am at this moment. Life is much better if we take it a step at a time, not looking back and not worrying about what is ahead.
hey! so there's this song they play at my work and it comes from a yahoo radio station...and I am so certain it sounds just like u!!!the song u showed me ages ago.i love it:)hehe
I've missed you, E!! I'll try to give you a call within the next day or two so that we can play "catch up". Hope all is well in your world...Luv Ya Lots!
Thanks, I like that u2 song too - it makes me think of.. you know who! So how many times have you seen them in concert? Anyway, about finishing lyrics I'm sure it takes every good musician time to write lyrics from the heart that inspire. From what I've heard you're doing that!
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1:9-11
e)-,
My prayer for you is the same. May you continue to grow in the love of Christ and may HIS blessings ever be upon your life.
