I began playing guitar in 1972. It happened one afternoon while I was sitting in the library at the senior boarding house at SACS, Newlands in Cape Town, South Africa. I was watching 'Francis Montocchio' (now a professional guitarist etc..) and 'Tony Weaver' (Journalist, Cape Times etc...) playing 'The Ballad of John Barleycorn' (I think the Traffic version) on acoustic guitars, and fell in love with the chord 'A minor'. After they finished, I got them to teach me how to play it. My education was facilitated by other guitarists, composers and such like through the years.
