New review of our album "Allen Finney and EBB" from the site I4U.com:
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Not for the brash
This is an all-acoustic album where all the songs are finely crafted by Allen Finney except the classic "St. James Infirmary Blues." Each song seems to emerge from a background of silence, so every note stands out as important. Eric's Bluesband (EBB) is young and lively. Eric Hansson's solos on guitar are like Clapton's revisited, and Henning Axelsson's keyboard riffs are a combination of jazz and honky tonk. The standup bass and drums make a sharp rhythm section. Allen's voice has a rural American twang with street smarts and a bit of Dylan and J.J. Cale. The first cuts are subtle and cool, some rock more than others, the blues get low, innocence and anger intermingle, and the whole thing ends off with a sweet, sad harmonica solo, so far from cool indifference. The sum is a varied musical landscape of original tunes and arrangements, feelings and observations, expertly performed and recorded, with no flattening of the highs and lows and no drugging of the mood swings.

Eric's Bluesband
Eric..s Bluesband was born as a trio in november 1999. We started out playing at various pubs in Stockholm. The music we played at that time was infuenced by Cream, Jimi Hendrix, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton. Bluesstandards mixed with our ow material. After playing a lot in Stockholm we got more and more gigs all around Sweden.
In 2001 we recorded our first album (Take One) with great guestmusicians "Master" Henry Gibson and Allen Finney.
After playing with different keyboardists for years, Henning joined the band in spring 2003, and we became a group of four.
In spring 2004 our second album (There..s An Angel In My Tree) was released with producer Brian Kramer. Guests on this album was among others Clas Yngström and Brian Kramer.
Our music is a mix of brittish blues and rock with a touch of american guitartradition (Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan), but we..re not scared of using influences outside the blues-genre, as long as it blends with the music and feeling...

Steeped in the roots traditions of American folk, rock, country, blues, and jazz, Allen Finney emerges with unique expressions in his own musical style. His previous CD Laying My Monkey Down, with Fat City Blues, was the first to feature only his original songs. Now he returns with an all-acoustic set, Allen Finney and EBB, showcasing his more recent material. Eric's Bluesband accompanies him unplugged with a fresh, immediate sound.

Blues with Strong Words
... Eric's Bluesband, a fairly young band that in 2004 was chosen as best band in its genre in Stockholm. Some years ago they played in Umeå before the sparsely occupied Droskan [The Cab]. In combination with Allen Finney, something happens. The music is of vital importance, vigorous, interesting, and exciting, including the twelve-bar songs that in the usual, fairly normal case, can be consistently mediocre. Perhaps it is the lack of electric instruments that makes the groove become as light as a feather and beautiful. Here and there are found also considerable entrances into folk music, blackened with the juicy blues tones from Allen Finney's harmonica.
The even dozen of the disc's tracks are written by Finney. The thirteenth is old "St. James Infirmary," and it is one of the best versions I have heard.
Don't miss Allen Finney and EBB. It's worth your while to hear them.
