the orchards are a collective from portland maine. back in january we played a cozy show in cat's bedroom on a snowy night. ed recorded it on his fisher price tape recorder that was dying a slow death. we've posted a song from that night, where you can hear its death rattle and the orchards fading into chipmunks. i also put up an old song about loving the rain, to honor the days we've been having here in maine. look out for a slew of "goodbye catalina" shows at the end of june/early july.
"It's like we landed on the enemy's side. The other guys all quit. They left us nothing when they split. Except the cold and quiet and the blues to sing about it."
In two weeks, there will barely be a burial. There will be no celebration in the north-country.
i want to marry a lighthouse keeper. other than that, ed said you' ll be able to extend that ole leg soonish, right? just in time to give me a swift kick in the ass. ahhhhh. thinking of you, true dat.
Yeah after I finished this one I have started thinking more about an entire album it's just making the time to do it, but i think within the year I'll have enough for a whole album.
Yeah, when it comes to making music videos, the Hold Steady is kind of a one-trick pony (except for that one for "Chips Ahoy!"--what even was that about?) and I guess this isn't an exception, but Franz more than makes up for it by being, if nothing else, the single biggest fan of the Hold Steady ever.
