Books
I don't get a chance to read as much as I would like... and most of the books I read now are reference of some sort (for instance... my bible while I am writing, Dictionary of Phrase & Fable)... but some all time great works... in no particular order:
Plato The Republic Stephen King Hearts in Atlantis Decartes Meditations Albom Tuesdays with Morrie (thx Carla) Richard Bachman The Long Walk (yeah.. it's virtually a piece o'crap with an ending that makes you want to throw it at a wall, BUT... it makes a great point of life... "keep picking them up and putting them down... the walk goes on") Poe EVERYTHING Fitzgerald The Great Gatsby Those damned Harry Potter books... (she creates a great world, what can I say), King The Dark Half and of course Shakespeare... I mean c'mon... if that fucker didn't get laid turning phrases like that then I don't see how anyone could :)
Heroes
those who see an opportunity and grasp it without fear... the measure of somethings worth is often it's risk
My name is Eric L Snyder. I am an artist. Art comes in many forms and I create in most of them. I will be working this Spring to turn this myspace once again back into a vehicle for promoting my art. Feel free to click around and check out what I have on here thus far.
Below are links to other places you can find me on the web as places where you can view more of my work and even make a purchase or two. Since I closed my artGallery, I haven't done as much showing in the real world as I would like (that will be changing this year), but I have found online showcases are cost effective and convenient for the customer.
I am always looking for feedback about my work, so feel free to leave comments, drop me a message and of course friend me.
ericsartwork journal. Here you can view all of my work, even those censored by myspace. You do not need a journal to be able to view my work here. Most of my 2008-2009 work have poems related to them... you will be able to read those in that journal as well as explanations of some of the pieces.
Who I'd like to meet: I have met some truly amazing people in my journey thru this labyrinth called life.
And I am not against meeting more. The people I would like to meet on here fall into 5 categories:
Fellow artists, poets, photographers and all around creative people.
Those in the business of art... collectors, buyers, gallery owners, bands who would like to use my art in their design, distributors and even critics.
Anyone who enjoys my artWork, whether you wish to purchase a million pieces from me or absolutely ZERO... you just have to appreciate what I do and enjoy viewing/reading my work.
Interesting and intelligent people who find me likewise. Since this myspace became more social than it originally had planned to be, you will see I have many friends of a purely social nature and I love them all... so, even if you are not into art or feel my work is shite... but still think I might be cool to get to know... I am not so wrapped up in my work that I don't have time to make friends.
And, I dare to say MOST IMPORTANTLY.... models. I am nothing without my work and my work is nothing without the Muses who inhabit it. If you are interesting in modeling for me, message me or leave a comment. For more info on that, check out my "MODELS WANTED" blog.
Hey dude! Thank you very much for accepting my request! I really appreciate it and it means a lot to me! I hope you like my "basic rough demo idea recordings" for now. They are what they are...Unfortunately I don't have a "Real Band" meaning musicians/band members here in NJ that play this style, are advanced, dedicated and serious musicians. I'm only an average learning rhythm guitar player that has been forced to take on other instruments and use a rhythm trainer drum machine to make these demos and get the sounds out of my head. I'm not perfect and these are just my ideas waiting to find other musicians that share the same interest to help me develop them into full fledged songs, to re-record and add the vocals over them. Some of these were finished in a basic way for our 1st and last show with a temporary line up last year May 2008 when we opened up as special guests for Candlemass and Daylight Dies. A video exists from thew show but my vocalist Andy wants $$$ for it and I refuse to pay for a copy. Otherwise I'd have a video or 2 of the best songs up so people could listen to them with vocals over them and many re-worked arrangements, intros, riffs and such which can't be heard on these 1st primitive recordings. There's a lot to say and explain but I'm not gonna type more in this comment. You can read more in the blogs if you want. You'll find many answers there and it would save me some time hehe Anyways thank you very much once again! Hope you have a beautiful week ahead! Stay well and feel free to stop by anytime! Much Love, Peace and Respect to you!
