Eric Thachuk is a talented electric bassist from Ontario, Canada and graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Eric was introduced to musical performance studies in elementary school, playing in the brass section of the school band. His enthusiasm, raw talent and private lessons served him well, as he was later presented with the Lynden Community Choir Award for outstanding achievement in music. Eric then enrolled in the music program at Highland Secondary School, where he continued to study trumpet. Eventually, Eric's passion turned to guitar and electric bass. The postsecondary education decision was easy, when Eric decided to attend Mohawk College, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, where he received a diploma for the 3 year applied music program. While attending college, Eric continued to give private bass/guitar and music theory lessons. He also volunteered in the music program at Highland Secondary School, tutoring theory as well as recording and editing performances. In April of 2007, Eric jumped at the opportunity to work for Carnival Cruise Lines as a member of the jazz trio onboard the" Valor". Eric attended Berklee College of Music on a partial scholarship and was the first student to take part in the Mohawk/Berklee articulation agreement. In spring 2008, Eric was selected to receive additional scholarship for ‘Outstanding Musicianship’ at Berklee’s annual Performance Division Achievement Awards. Over the years, Eric has had the privilege of studying with some of the finest teachers north and south of the border including Darcy Hepner, Mike Malone, Daniel Morris, John Repucci and Juno Award winning bassist Chris Tarry. With many recordings and live performances under his belt, Eric is well on his way to achieving his goal of being a successful professional musician.
Hey Eric!!! How's it been going since Berklee? Are you still around Boston or did you go back to Canada? Hit me up and let me know what's good. Also, if you ever want to get a copy of the video from the recital you played in last year, let me know. BTW, if you're still around Boston, hit me up when you have a gig. I'd love to come out. (And I'm ALWAYS looking for a bass player for my gigs, so it would be good to know if you're here)
Thaz... seriously? Last login 11/13? How can you resist getting on myspace like that. I need those skills... especially when you've done nothing the past week. weak son.

IT'S JUST LOVE
As hard as I try, I can't seem to erase you from my mind. Search his eyes for a reflection of your heart. Imagination engulfing reality. His hands embrace me. I close my eyes and feel you. If only this distance weren't so prodigious. My heart longing only to be beside you. A love so inaccessible. Relying only on Faith. A love so unyielding. It will never surrender. Although I kiss you goodbye, My heart will never cease to be enraptured by you.
Thank you for being our friend and listening to our music!

The bass is a Zon Sonus. Basically a "Todd Johnson" series (26 fret w/ extended cutaway) with some further mods and different woods. I LOVE that thing. My dream bass, really. Joe Zon is making me a 4 string version right now, actually! Stoked for that...
Thanks again for the kind words!
Be well,
