Basterds was good.....I appreciate how Tarantino honors the classics with the subtle touches from the movies of old and still somehow manages to mesh his style into the fray, but there was SO MUCH TALKING!! I nearly dozed off an hour in. All the action took place in the commercials, and I dread that about movies. Not my favorite from him but given the fact that it's supposed to be a dirty (fictional) war movie he did a good job bringing that era to a new generation of people that really hasn't felt the need to explore it. C+
you know what, to be honest, it's one of my favorites..lol! Sorry that it didn't exceed your expectations, but you are totally right about it being underrated, and frankly underappreciated...lol! I just hate how some people can watch a movie like this and don't really get the sense or direction it was going. I saw it twice and both times made me think more and more about those times and the difficulties. But I deeply appreciate it nonetheless. I think my favorite songs in the film would have to be, "Let it Be", "Strawberry Fields", and "Need a little help from my friends". They were the best! lol!
