From a small town in North Texas, Eric Tipton sprouted up with intentions on being something more than a small town kid or hometown boy does good story. With music described by fans and critics alike, as something you never expected when you saw him, Tipton has made a name for himself throughout Texas and the country. With his debut album he attracted the attention of industry and artists alike. Staying true to what he loves Tipton says, "Roots music is everything that people can't label. It's emotion, it's laughs and tears."
Tipton has made staying rooted his goal. With offers and travels across the country Tipton keeps coming back to DFW to what he calls his "family". "I've played a lot of stages, with some big names and some small names. It doesn't matter who is on stage. Every show I go out and I do what I do and let people in. I tell every audience I love them and I truly do, without them I can't do what I do."
Now having released his Sophomore album, "Straight From The Couch", Tipton is ready for the ride. Having released his first album to critical and consumer acclaim, Tipton is at a place that he just wants to "start over again".
"When I started out almost 6 years ago, I would sit in my friends living rooms and play songs just hoping they didn't tell me that they hated it. I wanted to take people there with this album. The first album was what you got from the band at the live shows. The same thing that we did in crowded bars 300 nights a year. This album is what I do now in crowded bars, but it also has that feel of me sitting on your couch saying to you, 'So what do you think,' just hoping you don't tell me you hated it."
