“Erie Nites”
A duet collaboration with Blaise Siwula saxophone and Robyn Siwula viola and guests performing spontaneous composed music. Although this duet was in the development for 20 some years the focus is on 2007 with regular sessions and experiments.
Blaise Siwula saxophones / clarinets currently from Brooklyn (18 years) has worked with a variety of musicians including Cecil Taylor, Tan Dun, William Parker, Ge-Suk Yeo, Joseph Daly, Donald Miller, Dom Minasi, Yuki Saga, Peter Kowald, Perry Robinson, Jeff Platz, Paul Hession, Bob Meyer, Borah Bergman, Adam Lane, Katsuyuki Itakura, Takayuki Matsumura, Sonny Simmons, Robert Marsh, Gary Hassay ….and performed throughout Europe. Japan, Korea and SE Asia. He has curated the weekly series C.O.M.A. @ ABC No-Rio in Manhattan for the past 8 years.
Robyn Siwula (daughter) viola and viola began studying music - piano and violin - in Detroit MI as a child. She continued her studies as a middle school and high school student in NYC. She attended La Guardia High School for Music and Art and Performing Arts. After graduating from High School She attended Brooklyn Colleges Conservatory of music and Hunter College. She graduated from Hunter College with a BA in music 2002 . Since that time she has had the opportunity to work with musicians like Peter Kowald, LaDonna Smith, Adam Lane, Tara Flandro, Marc Edwards, and Lee Nagrin.
A regular at the C.O.M.A. series at ABC No-Rio NYC she has participated in numerous open sessions and has performed with numerous musicians.
